Presto’s Ramblings

“I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” -Thoreau

Today I received a card in the mail from my local city government, supposedly advertising the upcoming Fourth of July festivities.  When I read the card, I was struck by this little blurb at the bottom:

Reminder: This is the first year the purchase, possession, and discharge of fireworks are banned in Newcastle.

So remember folks, when you celebrate your “freedom” on the government-designated day, only government-approved celebrations of freedom are allowed.
